Alicia Broggi, PhD mentors writers in the Bay Area of California. She is also writing a book, which combines intellectual history and close readings to explore religion and literature, with reference to the novels of J.M. Coetzee.

Erica Lombard, PhD is a researcher, writer, and designer in Cape Town. Her research draws on the methods of book history to explore publishing, whiteness, and nostalgia in South African literature and culture after apartheid. She has a Victorian complexion and a timeless sense of humor. She also makes the music for our episodes.

Erica and Alicia met while completing their doctorates in English at the University of Oxford, and share a passion for thinking about books in relation to culture.
